Oh, yeah - it's a new month. The month of love. Or, if you're like me - the month of really not caring about the month of love, but you find that you and your husband have been invited to a really kick-ass party that happens to fall on Valentine's Day. And you're both like, "Wait, we don't celebrate Valentine's Day. But now that we've accidentally planned something on V-Day... well, we're kind of excited for V-Day." But only because it involves going to the coast and drinking a shitload of dark beers
. We're not total assholes.
By the way, did you note my restraint in not using an exclamation point in the header? Well, did you?! Damn it. I almost made it...
Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty. It's time to list some killer comedy shows!
First up: It's subtle. It's couch potato-esque. It's live-Tweeting! Yes, Larry and I will be a peanut gallery of two
and we will be Tweeting about the Grammys
this coming Sunday, February 8th
. If you don't think that falls under "comedy," just wait until Larry tries to spell Beyonce's name. Follow along! For Larry here
and for myself here
Next: I'm super excited to announce that I've been asked to partake in the fabulous Spilt Milk Showcase
in Multnomah Village, hosted/conceived/curated by the wonderful duo of Joanie Quinn and Betsy Kauffman on Tuesday, February 17th
. More details to follow, but I believe you can buy tickets here
. Don't delay - these shows sell out every time!
And finally, the piece de resistance, our eighth Keep It Like A Secret on Wednesday, February 18th! You don't want to miss this one, it's an amazing lineup that includes:
Brannon (Winner of the 35th Annual Seattle
International Comedy Competition), Danny
Felts ( Bridgetown Comedy Festival,
Bumbershoot, Spicy News), Robbie
Pankow (world's foremost Miley Cyrus fan), and Christen
Manville (comedy gold).
And, as if that isn't enough, we'll also have a very special guest, via Skype - Mr. Mike
Lawrence (@midnight, the Comedy Central Half
Hour, Conan, Seth Meyers, WTF with Marc Maron, You Made It Weird with Pete
Holms, Montreal's Just For Laughs Festival and much, much more)!
Shake your money-maker - these shows also sell out, so grab your tickets now! Right here, at Eventbrite (further show details, including time and location, in this handy link you're about to click on).
See you at the shows! xo
