Hello friends!
What has been whispered to the gossip genie has finally come to pass - Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have officially reunited. Do you feel dizzy? I know I do - I am SO ready to watch this whirlwind romance. We've been bereft of a big celebrity couple for a while and these two know how to deliver big on the drama, the glamour, and those over-the-top (often ill-advised) grand gestures. (The $2.5 million dollar pink Harry Winston engagement ring from their previous union comes to mind...) So, yeah - this is gonna be good.
Even better - there is a Kevin Costner crossover! I know!!! I'm excited as well. Is this our new Bermuda Triangle? (An honor formerly reserved for Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, and Angelina Jolie.) Actually, no; there is no chance in hell of JLo stepping out on Ben with Kevin. But Kevin and Ben have been in a movie together, and Larry & I recently decided that we're moving on to Affleck films after we wrap up the Costner treasure trove. And, lo and behold, there is a film that features them both - The Company Men. This will serve as our jumping off point when we transition. There are many more so-bad-they're-good flicks in our future. I am positively giddy. Speaking of films, I've got a new review up. This one is a documentary about beer called Brewmance. Check it out with this handy link! It's Costner-free. Now that's even more refreshing than a cold one! In other exciting news, I have retired! From emotional labor, that is. Here's the deal: I am seeing so many think-pieces on how to broach the, "Are you vaccinated?" question. Like this has to be couched in politeness? These posts happen to mainly be appearing on female-centric blogs. And it's really bothering me. I've given so much of my life to making others feel comfortable and I know I am not alone. As women, we're conditioned (groomed, even) to make it pleasant for everyone. But I'm over it. I have the right to be bluntwhen it comes to life or death matters of my health. Are you vaccinated? If the answer is yes, let's hang out! Haven't gotten your shots yet? If not, let me know when you've completed that. If the answer is, "I'm doing that never," please lose my number. See, it's easy! Think of all the free time I'll have now to continue to pursue my two-person Kevin Costner/Ben Affleck film festival! I hope you enjoyed your update for the week of May 10-14!
